KASESE. Members of the Kasese District NRA/UPDF war veterans association have been advised to focus on development and to put to proper use the little pension received from Government.

This was disclosed by the coordinator for the operation wealth creation in charge of Busongora north Maj. Barnabasi Mughongo while addressing war veterans at Kyabarungira sub-county headquarters in Kasese district.

He blamed some veterans who have received their pension and have misused it adding that such funds would have been used to increase their incomes and eradicate poverty at house hold level.

Maj. Mughongo called upon the war veterans to observe peace in their area since it is the reason they fought.

Some of the Association members expressed need for proper accountability of funds earned from their properties including a tractor after citing mismanaged of the said funds.

The OC Kyabarungira sub-county SGT Nganga Isaiah who also attended the meeting appealed to LC1 leaders in the area to impress conducting village meetings involving the police so that they can identify the wrong doers who he said disrupt the peace of Ugandans.

Meanwhile the Kyabarungira sub county LC3 chairperson Mr. Samuel Kithawithe commended government for the operation wealth creation program which he said was doing well in the sub-counties across the country.

The meeting was attended by the NRA-UPDF war veterans derived from the four sub-counties of Kyabarungira, Buhuhira, Kitswamba and Bwesumbu respectively, all in Kasese district. END
