Over thirty vehicles are reported to have been impounded by traffic officers in Kasese town over failing to fulfill the minimum traffic requirements, the Kasese District OC Traffic, Assistant Superintendent
of Police, Hadijja Ndikuyenze has said.

Speaking to ujk reporter shortly after the operation in Kasese town, ASP Hadijja indicated that the operation targeted over loaders, drivers without driving permits and vehicles that do not have third party insurance among others.

The traffic police head warned drivers against keeping on the road with no traffic requirements, before arguing them to be professional while driving.

An officer who blamed most accidents in Kasese to recklessness as a result of undisciplined and professional drivers said that the operations in plan are intended to save guard road users during the Christmas festivals.

About five drivers are said to be serving sentences over different offences as a result of a similar operation about one month ago. END
