KASESE: The Kasese District committee on works and technical services has called on the community in Kyondo to actively work for improved production if the eight kilometer Kyondo-Ibimbo road currently under construction was to be relevant.
During the inspection tour of several construction works on several roads in Bukonzo East, the Kasese District chairperson who also heads the committee, Mr. Sibendire Bigogo said that the road was not only for communication but also to boost agriculture that would in turn enable the local community educate their children.
Mr. Bigogo who threatened to deal with un-lawlessness used the opportunity to warn vanilla thieves whose intentions he said were intended to frustrate business in Kasese district.
Some residents including Mrs. Deporah Kiiza commended the district leadership for the road which they said would ease the transportation of produce in the area.
Hon Aida Syauswa, a member of the works and technical committee called for measures to have a nearby market to save women from walking long distances to sell their produces.
Meanwhile the chairman local council three for Kyondo sub-county Me Muke juvenile thanked the district for answering their call to have the areas in his sub county connected to good marrum roads.
Over Two hundred million shillings will be spend on the Kyondo –Ibimbo road and more than Two hundred million shillings for the construction of the Kanyughunya-Kajwenge in Kisinga sub-county respectively.
