More guns retrieved in Bwesumbu sub county of Kasese district

Three Guns with five magazines and one hundred rounds of ammunitions have been discovered in Kasangali market in Bwesumbu Sub County in Kasese district.

Speaking to the press at the scene the division police commander for Hima division assistant superintendent of police ASP Suubi Samu confirmed the information and identified the three guns as AK 47 with the following serial No.565900014-26795, Ak 47, 563619267-14918 and lastly Ak 47.565831476-31972.

ASP Suubi said he received the information through the local leadership of the area and that these are the same guns that were taken from the police officers that were killed by the attackers last year.

ACP Ecega Richard advised those who are still in hiding to return back to their homes before the government use another approach.

The RDC Kasese district Major James Mwesigye who spoke to the residents challenged all stakeholders to see what could have caused the attacks so that in future they should not experience the same.

The vice Chairperson for Kasese district Hon.Elly Magwara said now that they have surrendered guns they should invest in education.

The chairperson for Bwesumbu sub county Mr. Bagenda Samson has advised people to desist from intimidating and speaking false statements against their colleagues.

The three police officers that were killed as they took away their guns which have been discovered includes, Oyuki Henry,Pariyo Edward and Owuchu Gaetano all were killed at Bwesumbu police station in November last year.
