KASESE: The people of Kasese district need to double their efforts in ensuring that they prevent malaria infections in the area, a nursing officer at St. Paul’s Health centre four Mrs. Annet Bindu has disclosed.
She made the observation in an interview with our reporter at the health unit in Kasese town on Monday.
Mrs. Annet Bindu asked residents to guard against mosquito bites by closing windows and doors every evening and avoiding all stagnant waters in their compounds.
The medical officer also asked people to clear all bushes around their compounds as one way of eradicating mosquitoes which she said are breading places.
She appealed to Government to donate more mosquito nets to the population as one of the preventive measure towards malaria infection.
Reliable sources say that Malaria is one of the killer diseases in Uganda. END
