A criminal gang of street kids targeting bag snatching from women and street theft is growing up in Kasese town, authorities have revealed.

The gang of young boys has already been cited on Katodoba road near Kasese catholic diocese, along railway line near Kasese Muslim primary school and some corridors in Kasese town.

Safari Martin the Central Division Chairperson revealed to our reporter today that the street boys have even gone ahead to rape women and beating up those who don’t have their primary target of money and other valuables.

According to Safari, Kasese town currently has close to 400 street children who are now turning a security threat to locals and part of them have formed criminal gangs to survival.

He has warned locals to be vigilant and report any criminal threat from such street kids to police for quick intervention. END
