KASESE-Authorities in Kasese Municipality have rejected the implementation of operation wealth creation in the area citing less impact to the municipal residents.
Godfrey Kabbyanga the Kasese municipality mayor told UJK the supplies under operation wealth creation like goats, cows, beans and garlic and coffee seedlings don’t meet the demand of residents in the municipality.
He revealed that about five hundred million shillings have so far been put to waste in supplies like garlic and heifers which ended up dying as the environment in the area couldn’t favor their growth.
Kabbyanga is advising government to instead relocate the funds under operation wealth creation toyouth livelihood program and the women entrepreneurship project which are more relevant to the urban setting.
