KASESE: The Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for Kasese district Mr. Aslem Kyaligonza has threatened to transfer Head teachers who have totally failed to put up best results in their respective schools.
While addressing parents, teachers and pupils on Thursday at Kihyo primary school in Buhuhira sub county Busongora North constituency during the monitoring and evaluation tour the deputy CAO cited weakness of head teachers and absenteeism of teachers among others as the reasons why academic excellence in the district is still low.
Aslem called upon teachers to play their responsibility of making sure pupils are in class all the time and comprehend class content.
During the meeting, the Kasese RDC Lt. Col. James Mwesigye blamed pupils’ absenteeism at Kihyo on the head teacher and the entire school management for failing to monitor Pupils class attendance saying a school which consists of 330 pupils had less than 100 by 03:00pm.
He also warned the head teacher for Kihyo primary school Mr. Aron Kule for failing to manage the school and cautioned him about sending pupils home for money that had no clear use.
Kihyo primary school has spent over ten years without recording any first grade according to the Head teacher Aron Kule who also revealed that pupil’s absenteeism was high. ENDS
