The Divisional police commander DPC for Bwera Division assistant superintendent of police (ASP) Ayesiga Joseph has commended Hon Herold Tonny Muhindo for a peaceful consultative meeting saying the MP respected the set guidelines.
DPC commended the Bukonzo east Member of Parliament for a peaceful consultative meeting about the age limit bill as he received his voter’s first mind about the age limit bill.
Hon. Herold Tonny Muhindo pledged to represent the views of his electorates to parliament after majority of them opposed to the constitutional amendment of the presidential age limit and land amendment bill.
Hundreds of his supporters who had turned up at Kyalhumba town board in Kyalhumba Sub County spoke their mind to deny the alleged constitutional amendment plan.
The legislator also disclosed that he will not accept any bribe in case those pro to the constitution amendment proposed so to the members of parliament.
An old man of seventy four years, a former supporter of UPC but currently supports NRM Mzee Tibejuka Kimerangwe Yowasi a resident of Nyakabale village in Kyalhumba Sub County said Article 102(b) should not be changed adding that the parliamentarians who made the 1995 constitution were wise enough to make all what it took for them to have right articles of the constitution.
Most women who attended the rally including Mrs.Meresi Kyabanawandi and others advised their legislature never to accept any bribe adding that they also want their children to become future leaders including Presidency.
The sub county Chairperson for Kyalhumba where the consultative meeting sat Mr. Ivan Kabuthirwa said the land amendment bill and age limit should be maintained without putting any change.
However, most NRM Mps who constitute the majority in the Uganda’s Parliament are in support of the proposed age limit shift.
