A primary one pupil at St Joseph’s Primary School-Musyenene in Nyakiyumbu sub county Kasese district has gone missing this morning after suspected kidnappers offered him a car lift and sped off to unknown destination.

The innocent child was kidnapped on his way to school with his school mates.

The Kasese District Education Officer George Mayinja has confirmed the incident to our reporter on phone revealing that the kidnappers and their vehicle registration number couldn’t be identified by onlookers since they immediately sped off using the Bukangara route that joins Nyakiyumbu to Munkunyu Sub County and Bwera-Kasese high way.

Mayinja has reminded parents of the Universal Primary Education (UPE) guidelines that stipulate the role of a parent to escort his or her child to and from school as one way of ensuring their safety.

By press time, police had embarked on security road blocks and investigations into the matter. END
