The incident happened on Friday 13th, at around 10:30pm at Kogere Trading centre – Rukoki on Fort Portal road, as Nelson Kule a candidate in primary seven at St Stephen Primary School was going back home to look after the their house since their mother was admitted at the neighbouring health centre.
It’s said that the boy was coming from the saloon heading home with other two who ran away during the shooting which caused his death.
Derick Bwambale, an eye witness, told our reporter, that Nelson Kule now the deceased, was shoot by a man in UPDF attires who was guarding the trucks that are renovating Fort-portal Kasese road belonging to the Chinese company.
He said the trio had supper together and later Kuleasked them to escort him.
According to Jimmy Bwambale, a resident, the deceased was on his way home after checking on his hospitalised mother at Rukoki Health Centre III.
He adds that the trio was called by an armed person who later cocked the gun and shoot at them.
The area councilor representing Rukoki to Kasese Municipality, Herbert Bwambale, narrates that they were demonstrating with community members upon the death of the relative.
He adds that the only security personals guarding were soldiers which they suspect despite UPDF denying the accusations.
Angry residents blocked the road in protest over the Chinese company that hired the UPDF to take security of their machines.
The LC 3 chairperson Saidi Kisuki, said the community members allege that the deceased was killed by the security personnel.
He appealed to the residents to remain calm and leave the Chinese work on the road as authority works on finding the perpetrator.
Police and UPDF had to contain the situation despite the angry residents accusing them for being behind the killing.
Meanwhile, the security has not commented on the matter despite our reporter’s effort to get their defense over the allegations.
